## Title and Registration Are Different

**Title** = proof of ownership (issued by your state's DMV). **Registration** = permission to drive on public roads (annual or multi-year renewal). You'll receive both after purchase.

## At Castle Cadillac McHenry

We handle the initial paperwork and ensure all documents are in order at closing. For Illinois residents, the dealership typically files your title application with the Secretary of State. You'll receive your official title in the mail-this can take 2-4 weeks.

## Your Registration

Once titled, you'll register your vehicle with your state (Illinois or your home state if out-of-state). You'll need:
- Proof of title (or our temp document while you wait)
- Proof of insurance
- Payment for registration fees

## Out-of-State Buyers

If you're relocating, your new state will re-title the vehicle under its rules. Ask your DMV about timing.
